Is everything in the sessions confidential?

Everything that is discussed in our sessions would remain confidential. The only time that would change is if you disclose a risk to yourself or someone else. In such situations relevant services would be contacted to ensure yours and others safety. 

You can provide me with consent for your clinical information to be shared with you GP or any other health care professional involved in your care, as well as family or friend but this is entirely up to you. 


Can I speak to you before making an appointment?

Yes, I am more than happy to offer a free telephone consultation prior to an appointment being made. We can explore what you difficulties are and answer any questions you may have. You can use the contact button below or above to arrange the free telephone call with me.


Do you prescribe medication?

No. As a psychotherapist I am not qualified to diagnose or prescribe medication. If this is something you would like to consider you would need to speak to your GP or a psychiatrist.


Can I call you in a crisis?

It is understandable that at times we may feel we need urgent and immediate support. If I am available, I will answer the call however, this is not always possible. If you do require urgent care please contact your GP, call emergency services (999), go to your nearest A&E or call your local crisis team for support.  


How many sessions will I need?

This will vary from person to person, depending on what you are struggling with. It will also depend on our approach and what it is you would like to achieve form the sessions. Most individuals will receive between 10-20 sessions. This will be discussed regularly throughout our session and reviewed as we go along.


What happens if I miss or can’t attend my appointment?

It is understandable that things can change in our day to day life. In the unfortunate event that you are unable to attend our arranged appointment, I ask for at least 48 hours notice. Appointments cancelled within 48 hours will be charged at 50%. Anything outside of this we will do our best to re-arrange to an alternative day or time that is available.
