Hi, I’m Carine
I am a fully accredited BABCP psychotherapist in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I have worked in the NHS since 2014 where I have provided different types of therapies for individuals struggling with various mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, long term health conditions and low self-esteem.
Before becoming a qualified therapist, I personally struggled with anxiety. In my early to late teens, social interactions were a challenge—any attention on me or new situations would trigger overwhelming anxiety attacks. It was a difficult time, but my breakthrough came when I decided to pursue my passion for psychology as my undergraduate degree.
The journey wasn’t easy. Certain aspects of the course triggered my own anxieties, but it also pushed me to grow. I began volunteering in mental health services, expanding my skills as a mental health worker. Through this experience, I saw my passion and confidence flourish as I helped others navigate their own challenges. This inspired me to continue my studies, completing my MSc and later my Postgraduate Diploma to become a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Now, I use my personal experience and professional training to support others on their journey to overcoming anxiety and achieving lasting change.
My interests today extend to training in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy. I believe that with the right tools and guidance, we can all gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our minds, allowing us to take positive steps toward what truly matters. By developing these skills, we can manage our mental well-being and create a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
