Maybe you’ve noticed your feeling more anxious or low recently, or maybe these are feelings you’ve been managing for a long time. You may be facing new life challenges recently which with work, relationships or difficulties self-confidence that feel difficult to navigate alone.

I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist offering a warm, collaborative and supportive space where we can explore the difficulties you may be experiencing. Together we will work to understand patterns in thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and develop practical tools to help you move towards meaningful and lasting change.

Therapy is not about “fixing” you, but about helping you better understand yourself and develop new ways of responding to life's challenges.

While my core approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, my work is also informed by experience in complementary approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. These approaches can help us gently explore new ways of responding to challenges and reconnect with what truly matters to you.

Together, we can reflect on your values and the kind of life you would like to move towards, helping you build a life that feels more meaningful, balanced and aligned with what is most important to you.

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely understandable to feel unsure at first. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. Therapy can simply begin with a conversation about what has been difficult and what you would like to change. If you feel ready to take that first step, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial consultation.

  • “I really appreciate that you made me feel at ease, relaxed and comfortable when speaking about things. You created a trusting atmosphere that helped me open up and speak freely." - CR

  • “I had an incredibly positive experience working with Carine Avekian through CBT. What truly set her apart was her dedication to making sure the approach worked for me personally. When one technique didn’t quite resonate, she didn’t hesitate to explore other strategies within the CBT framework until we found the right fit.”

She consistently asked insightful, in-depth questions that helped uncover patterns in my thinking and behavior, allowing us to address the root of the issues rather than just the surface symptoms. On occasions when we were discussing something particularly important, she made sure I felt fully heard - even if it meant taking a few extra minutes to thoughtfully wrap up the conversation. That kind of care made a real difference.” - CP

  • “It has been nice to find a therapist I felt comfortable enough to talk to and feel they understood what I was experiencing. I felt I could trust Carine which is something I have struggled to do with other therapists in the past” - ML
